BioWare Veteran Leaves Studio To Work On New Star Wars Game

BioWare fans are well aware that it has been a hectic year for the beloved developer. They have been hard at work bringing their new franchise Anthem to life, while dealing with structural changes mandated by parent company EA, such as the merging of BioWare Montreal with Motive Studios and the hiatus of their Mass Effect series. EA naturally has several other projects in the works, including a Star Wars game being made by Respawn. Now, it looks like these EA branches are colliding, as a BioWare secret project producer and veteran Blair K Brown is leaving to join the fellow studio.

Blair K Brown has announced on his official Twitter account that he is leaving BioWare after 6 years with the developer. Brown worked on Dragon Age: Inquisition, Mass Effect Andromeda, the upcoming Anthem game and another mystery BioWare project. It is unknown whether this Secret BioWare project was a planned game that was scrapped at some point (either by EA or BioWare’s choice), or if it could perhaps be an upcoming game that has yet to be announced. Considering that Brown was working on Anthem, it could be taken as a good sign of that game being somewhat near completion, given that BioWare felt comfortable losing such a key figure on the project.

Brown will now be joining developer Respawn Entertainment, also an EA-owned studio, to work on their upcoming Star Wars project. Not much is known about that project, other than it being a third-person action game led by Sig Asmussen of God of War fame. We here at Don’t Feed the Gamers thank Blair for his work on the BioWare games that we have loved, and wish him the best at Respawn.
