Cowboy Bebop Makes a Return to Toonami — Episodes Begin Again This Week
Toonami, arguably one of the best North American TV program run by Adult Swim that features mature anime series, is bringing back Cowboy Bebop. In order to make room for more popular shows since an hour of showtime was cut, the aforementioned made an honorable sacrifice. However, Toonami is expanding their weekend time block and reintroducing this beloved series to another generation.
Now, if the program really wants to hit people with all the feels and nostalgia, all the showrunners have to do is bring back Case Closed, Yu Yu Hakusho, Samurai Champloo, Inuyasha, Gundam Wing or any of the other equally reasonable candidates. According to Toonami, Cowboy Bebop will make its reprise on Saturdays from 3AM, which begins September 9th, 2017 right between Outlaw Star at 2:30AM and Attack on Titan‘s 3:30AM slot. Here’s what the new schedule looks like:
New Toonami Schedule With Cowboy Bebop – Begins 9/9
11:00PM – Dragon Ball Super
11:30PM – DBZ: Kai
12:00AM – JoJo’s Bizarre Adventures
12:30AM – Tokyo Ghoul
1:00AM – Hunter x Hunter
1:30AM – Lupin the III
2:00AM – Naruto: Shippuden
2:30AM – Outlaw Star
3:00AM – Cowboy Bebop
3:30AM – Attack on Titan
Unfortunately, in 2015, the lack of ratings forced Toonami to cut back on air time, but this isn’t the first time the program has had to face the cut. Back in 2008, Cartoon Network announced a permanent cancellation at the dismay of dedicated viewers. However, Adult Swim took on the reigns to its revival. So, gamers and anime friends alike, what are your thoughts on the anime TV program? Are you glad to have Cowboy Bebop back in your life?
