PUBG’s First-Person Mode is Coming Soon, Will Have its Own Dedicated Servers
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has been riding high ever since it went into Early Access on Steam earlier this year. At E3 2017, developer Bluehole kicked everything into high gear when it made several exciting announcements on what to expect from the battle royal game in the coming months, including a zombie mode, parkour, and the game’s upcoming full release on the Xbox One later this year. They aren’t stopping there, though. Bluehole announced that PUBG’s first-person mode – which up until now was a bare-bones, optional view mode – is getting some serious updates, along with dedicated servers that will force the player to play the game as a first-person shooter.

Bluehole broke the news via their Twitter, revealing that PUBG’s first-person mode will be arriving in the developer’s next monthly update, complete with its own hashtag – #MakeHardcoreGreatAgain. Those of you that prefer the vanilla PUBG experience need not worry though. Bluehole is adding in new dedicated servers for the first-person mode instead of repurposing any of the existing ones, which are finally enjoying some much needed server stabilization. Bluehole has also committed to rolling out some improvements to the view mode though, at this time, it is unknown what these improvements will be.
PUBG’s latest updates have gone over exceedingly well. Last month’s update saw several different weather effects added to the game, including foggy overcast, a few new sunset settings, and streets slick with rain. A new weapon called the Groza was also added, which is an item exclusive to Care Packages. A new fully-automatic 9mm pistol called the P18C was added in as well. The developer also made several adjustments to the spawn rates of several weapons and accessories with the aim of keeping them more consistent depending on the weapon tier.
