A movie based on the classic arcade game Rampage has been in the works for a while now, gaining steam after mega-star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson signed on in the lead role. Plot details regarding the film have been kept a secret for most of the upcoming movie’s production, but tidbits about how the motion pitcture’s three monstrous giants are created were seemingly leaked in the late weeks of last month. Now, The Rock has set the record straight in a hilarious Instagram post, playfully confirming a large part of the Rampage movie plot.

In the post, The Rock addressed his followers by revealing a few details about the monster feature‘s story. He touches on his character’s noble backstory and goes over his relationship with the movie’s mega-gorilla named George. The message quickly turns into goofy territory as Johnson most likely realizes how cheesy and far-fetched the Rampage movie plot may come across.

They go on a deadly rampage and want to destroy the world. George not happy. Me not happy. When animals like you, they lick you. When they don’t like you, they kill you. I will hunt down the bad people who did this to my best friend. And when I find them, I will not lick them.”

Johnson then when back to talking seriously about the film, complementing the project’s incredible monster designs. Also revealed was that special effects powerhouse WETA will be working on the Rampage‘s visual effects, the same team that brought the creatures of Middle Earth to life in the acclaimed live-action Lord of the Rings films.

We have the best VFX monster-making team (WETA) on the planet,” he said. “Our actors and crew have been working very hard to raise the monster genre bar. As always, let’s have some fun. Let’s shoot.”

The way the actor/human brick wall The Rock makes the movie sound, one could liken the it to a large-scale disaster film. This may be the intention as New Line Cinema hired San Andreas director Brad Peyton to helm the project. We can see it for ourselves when Rampage hits theaters on April 20, 2018.
