Genshin Impact Version 2.1 Weapons Include A Literal Fish Claymore

Genshin Impact fans are mere days away from sinking their teeth into all the new content releasing in Version 2.1. Said content includes the continuation of the Inazuma questline, new limited-time events, and new playable characters such as Horizon Zero Dawn’s Aloy and the Raiden Shogun. Also releasing in Version 2.1 is a slew of new weapons, one of which is a literal fish claymore, because reasons.

Genshin Impact developer miHoYo took to Twitter to reveal the batch of brand-new weapons releasing in Version 2.1. These weapons are Engulfing Lightning (Polearm), Luxurious Sea-Lord (Claymore), “The Catch” (Polearm), and Predator (Bow). The Luxurious Sea-Lord is the fish in question, and it’s, well, it’s really something. Check it out:

As for how players will be able to snag these new weapons, each one is acquired differently. The Engulfing Lightning polearm is considered to be the Raiden Shogun’s ideal weapon and as such is on the Event Wish banner releasing at the start of Version 2.1. The fish claymore can be obtained via the Moonlight Merriment Event Shop, while “The Catch” is tied to the new fishing activity coming soon to Genshin Impact. Last but not least, Aloy’s Predator bow is available as a PlayStation console exclusive for those that login to Genshin Impact at any point after the Version 2.1 update and prior to the Version 2.3 update. The bow can technically be used on any platform, though the Strong Strike weapon trait is only active when playing on PlayStation.

Genshin Impact is currently available on PC, PS4, PS5, and Android & iOS devices. Version 2.1 is slated to release on September 1st, 2021.
