Alan Wake 2 Rumored To Be In Development, Backed By Epic Games

The gaming industry is full of capable developers that create compelling experiences and stories, with one prominent developer being Remedy Entertainment. The developer has been behind beloved franchises like Alan Wake, Quantum Break and most recently Control. One of their most beloved series though is Alan Wake, which was first made in partnership with Microsoft Entertainment. While Wake was given a spin-off follow-up game and was a big part of the DLC for Control recently, the author character never got a proper sequel. However, that may be changing, as Alan Wake 2 is supposedly in development by Remedy Entertainment.

VentureBeat journalist Jeff Grubb recently conducted another livestream on his official Twitch channel. Grubb discussed various topics during the stream, and opted to disclose his recent findings regarding Alan Wake 2 given to him by a source close to Remedy Entertainment. Supposedly, Remedy is currently developing a sequel to their original Alan Wake game, with Epic Games acting as publisher and providing funding for the project.

Alan Wake 2

This comes after news last year that Remedy and Epic Games entered a two-game deal which would consist of a big AAA multiplatform game, and a smaller spin-off of the same franchise. If this is indeed one of those projects, then it would seem that there will be another Alan Wake game in addition to Alan Wake 2. Remedy Entertainment has not yet officially announced what either of these two mystery projects would be, although they did suggest in the past that they were working on an additional project set in the shared universe that Alan Wake and Control both take place in. Hopefully, the long-awaited Alan Wake sequel is indeed in the works now, so that Alan can finally be re-awakened in full form.
