Demon’s Souls Remake Has Reportedly Already Gone Gold

The highly anticipated Demon’s Souls Remake has already Gone Gold ahead of its release next month alongside the PS5. For those unfamiliar, the term Gone Gold simply means that initial development on a game has been completed, and there’s no more work the developer needs to do before it officially ships. This does not include post-game updates or DLC, both of which will likely occur given how high-profile of a title the Demon’s Souls Remake is for Sony.

The announcement comes by way of Dark Souls modder and YouTuber Lance McDonald, who revealed that the Demon’s Souls Remake had actually already Gone Gold as of September 24. McDonald was apparently allowed to test out a few “small sections of gameplay,” which he mentioned in a recent series of Tweets. Update: These Tweets have seemingly been deleted since then, though McDonald’s working can still be seen below:

Per the above Tweet, McDonald seems to be fairly happy and excited for the Demon’s Souls Remake, though he also points out that he was also a fan of the gameplay from the most recent trailer. This is likely a nod to the group of folks that thought the gameplay shown was basic and repetitive, though McDonald goes on to reveal that the developer had enabled 1-hit kills for the run in order to breeze through and show off more of the game.

McDonald goes on to say that he has “high hopes as to the faithfulness of the project” having seen more gameplay than most, so chances are we’ll be in for quite the wild ride when the Demon’s Souls Remake releases on November 12 for the PS5.
