New Prince Of Persia Twitter Account Seemingly Discovered By Fans
The Prince of Persia franchise hasn’t seen much love in quite a while. Aside from the mobile runner that arrived back in 2018, the franchise seems to be left to the sands of time, taken over by its successor, the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Still, there may yet be some hope left for the ancient series as a new Twitter account has appeared that looks to be linked with Prince of Persia and Ubisoft.
Some investigative fans made the discovery known over on Reddit, where an official Prince of Persia Twitter account seems to have been created in May of this year. Fans immediately began attempting to validate these findings, using the forgotten password feature on Twitter to uncover a potential email or phone number. According to the Reddit post, the account appears to end in “95” and is linked to an official Ubisoft email, a similar setup for other game accounts for franchises such as Rainbow Six, Anno, Rayman, and more.
While the discovery is interesting, to say the least, there is no way of knowing whether developers are in the process of bringing back the Prince of Persia franchise or this is just another case of standard practices. With the recent pandemic that’s swept the world, E3 couldn’t be held in its intended capacity. Despite this setback, many developers and publishers including Ubisoft have decided to hold their own digital events to show off all the new technology and products they hope to share with fans. With all this in mind, it’s entirely possible that a Prince of Persia game could be announced during the Ubisoft Forward event on July 12th.
Could the discovery of this new Twitter account mean that Ubisoft has plans for the Prince of Persia franchise after all this time?
