While the ongoing Coronavirus outbreak could delay things for a bit, next-gen is currently all but upon us. The reveal of Microsoft’s next hardware, the Xbox Series X, has already assured quite the formidable competition once the console war kicks off, touting specs that topple the “world’s most powerful console” moniker previously held by the Xbox Series X. Though there are already many official details on the subject, the full range of Xbox Series X specs has now been unveiled, giving fans a definitive look at how current-gen will stack up against the next-generation of consoles.

By the looks of Digital Foundry‘s extensive specification rundown, one conclusion can immediately be drawn: the Xbox Series X is a beast of a machine. We already knew that a 12 teraflops GPU would be part of its repertoire, but finer details such as memory (16GB GDDR6) and internal storage (1TB Custom NVMe SSD) have also reached their final iteration. To put things in the proper perspective, these Xbox Series X specs were placed alongside that of the Xbox One X, signifying a massive hardware leap in nearly every respect. This massive boost in hardware capabilities is just the surface of what the Xbox Series X can do, at least according to teases from Microsoft. Not all of the hardware’s capabilities have been divulged just yet, inspiring some pretty surprising rumors regarding the console’s launch. However, in terms of confirmed features, the next-gen machine touts extensive backward compatibility support, a nifty cross-gen upgrade program, as well as a Quick Resume feature that puts players immediately back in the action.

The Xbox Series X is currently slated for release in Holiday 2020.
