Zavala’s Prelude for Destiny 2 – Brand New Trailer Brings the Destruction (VIDEO)
Bungie has released two major trailers for Destiny 2 that show the depth of the upcoming story. The reveal trailer showed fans how the Cabal attacked Earth’s last city and ultimately destroyed the Guardians Tower. A second video has been released detailing the great blue Titan Zavala and his journey as a Guardian including the construction of the original Tower. Called Zavala’s Prelude, it’s a fitting piece to remind Guardians just what they are fighting for.
The video starts off with a question: What makes a Guardian a Guardian? Is it the massive amounts of loot, the thrill of the kill against a tough opponent, perhaps dancing with other Guardians for no reason at all? Zavala will tell you that the thing that makes a Guardian is one drawn to the light, knowing they were meant to be something greater than themselves.
As told in Zavala’s Prelude, a fight is coming, and the Guardians have been forged for this very moment and time again by each fight, each death, and each time they rise again. The trailer shows off specifically Zavala fighting and dying to only grow stronger each time he’s brought back by his ghost, a tougher and wiser man. Now with the Tower gone, the Guardians will have to learn new ways to fight, armed with strength and knowledge from the first game and the addition of new abilities, it’s time for the Guardians to test themselves once more.
Guardians will have a chance to fight back against the Cabal and possibly even take revenge upon Dominus Ghaul, the primary antagonist of Destiny 2 played by Neil Kaplan. There will be other enemies as well but it’s nice to see the Cabal who were a lesser part of the first game have such a big appearance. Destiny 2 is shaping up to be a huge improvement over the first title with Bungie fixing many of the issues players had with the game, especially the lack of a cohesive storyline. The plan for the upcoming title is to weave a strong narrative into the game rather than use the Grimoire cards prominent in the original Destiny to tell the tale.
Do you have what it takes to be Guardian? Destiny 2 will be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 as well as on PC September 8th of this year.
