Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Announced, Releasing Later This Year (VIDEO)
The Nintendo Switch continues to thrive, even now into its sixth year of existence. This was especially seen recently with the latest Nintendo Direct digital presentation. Nintendo has been able to thrive thanks to adding more franchises and developers to their company to make games for their platforms. One of the biggest new success stories for Nintendo studios in the recent years has been Monolith Soft. The studio is now best known for their Xenoblade Chronicles series, which made its debut on the Wii in 2010. A third game in the series had been confirmed by the studio to be nearing the final stages of development, but Nintendo had not officially announced Xenoblade Chronicles 3. That is, until now.
Nintendo has released the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 announcement trailer on their official YouTube channel, after having first made its debut during the recent Nintendo Direct presentation. The game takes place after the events of the first two Xenoblade games, with this one set in the world of Aionios. The trailer shows the mechanically-inclined nation of Keves with the opposing ether-oriented nation of Agnus. Players will be put in control of the two main off-seer protagonists, Noah of Keves and Mio of Agnus.
Also seen in the trailer Noah’s childhood friends Lanz and Eunie, as well as Mio’s friends Taion and Sena. This third game seems as though it will follow the series tradition of utilizing an action-RPG gameplay style. Little else about the game so far has been revealed, but the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 trailer does confirm that the game is currently set to be released this September later this year. The series has proven to be a fan-favorite, and this new game looks like it will keep the Monado storm going.
