Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes Announced For Nintendo Switch (VIDEO)

The Nintendo Switch continues to thrive in the video game industry, making even previously niche franchises into worldwide hits. Fire Emblem has been one such franchise that had been mainly only been popular in Japan for years. The release of Fire Emblem: Three Houses on the Switch proved to be one of the most successful entries for the series, and introduced gamers to a new cast of colorful characters. It seems that these new characters have proven endearing enough to warrant a spinoff of their own, as Nintendo has unveiled the new Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes spinoff Musou game.

Nintendo has released the Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes announcement trailer on their official YouTube channel, after first revealing it during their recent Nintendo Direct digital presentation. The game is a follow-up to the first Fire Emblem Warriors game, which is itself a spinoff of the classic Dynasty Warriors series and its “Musou” style of action gameplay. Three Hopes takes place in the same universe as Fire Emblem: Three Houses, and continues the story of Byleth and the leaders of the Officers Academy houses.

The trailer shows that players will control one of the three house leaders: Princess Edelgard of the Black Eagles, Prince Dimitri of the Blue Lions and Claude of the Golden Deer. Each of the three are shown with their signature weapons and unleashing a variety of complex power moves against legions of enemies, as a Musou game would be expected to display. Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes is set to be released later this year on June 24th exclusively for Nintendo Switch. It certainly seems like it would be a must-have for Fire Emblem fans, and for newcomers to the franchise that just want to shoot explosive arrows at bad guys.
