Xbox Controller Button Issue Being 'Actively' Worked On By Microsoft

It looks like some Xbox Series X|S owners are running into trouble with one of the console’s peripherals. Reports have begun to surface online of some players running into issues with their Xbox controller buttons being unresponsive. Thankfully Microsoft is apparently working on a fix, though there’s currently no timeline on when the fix will be put into place.

As reported by PC Gamer, player reports are surfacing confirming that the newest version of the Xbox Wireless Controller that launched with Microsoft’s latest console isn’t always recognizing button taps, even when the controller is being used on PC. These reports are varied, with no one button being the standout issue among the rest. Microsoft has since issued a statement confirming that the company is “actively working” on a fix. Here’s the statement in full:

“At Microsoft, we put all of our products through rigorous quality assurance testing and are committed to providing customers with an unparalleled gaming experience. We are aware some players may be experiencing unresponsiveness with their new Xbox Wireless Controllers and our teams are actively working on a solution. For the best experience, we encourage customers to visit Xbox Support for assistance.”

It’s currently unknown what the cause of the Xbox controller issue is, and Microsoft has yet to offer any temporary fixes. Thankfully the company is addressing the issue head on, as any type of faulty controller issue is typically a pain to deal with.
