Xbox Boss Phil Spencer Is “Having A Blast” Playing Project Scarlett At Home
Microsoft’s Phil Spencer has been a bit of a wildcard as of late. Recently, the Xbox boss made some dismissive comments regarding VR and its future – or lack thereof – on Project Scarlett, much of which was unfounded given the success the tech has enjoyed on the PlayStation 4. Now, good ol’ Phil is back in the spotlight again, this time cheerfully telling his fan base that he’s “having a blast” playing Project Scarlett at home and, well, the rest of us schmucks still have to wait another year.
The Xbox boss fired off his latest flex via a new Tweet in which he reveals that he has officially brought his Project Scarlett home to become his primary console. I’m personally picturing him frolicking in the fields hand in hand with said console, though according to him he’s simply been having fun playing games, connecting to the community, and – here comes another flex – using his Elite Series 2 controller. The Tweet can be seen below:
And it’s started….this week I brought my Project Scarlett console home and it’s become my primary console, playing my games, connecting to the community and yes, using my Elite Series 2 controller, having a blast. Great work by the team, 2020 is going to be an incredible year.

I think that above all, the important lesson to be learned here is that Phil is having a lot of fun and is looking forward to when the rest of us are able to get in on the action…in a year. One whole year. Project Scarlett is slated to release Holiday 2020.
