A Netflix show based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s Witcher book series (and video games) has been in the works for a while now, with official images only recently starting to surface regarding the live-action adaptation. The past few weeks have shown off a large portion of the main cast, so far providing a peek at actors for Yennefer, Ciri, as well as the titular character of Geralt played by Henry Cavill. The Witcher Netflix series has now shown off another member of the upcoming show, Geralt’s horse companion Roach.

Series showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich debuted the look at Roach over social media, the trusty steed depicted with Geralt strolling through a landscape. Although an image had seemingly been revealed in the past, this is the first official look at the majestic mare in live-action. Check out the post below.

In addition to the equine unveiling, Hissrich teased much more lies in the image than meets the eye, suggesting that fans should look closely for another reveal. The most likely reference is what appears to be a sword sheathed alongside Roach, Geralt’s horse seemingly obscuring the witcher’s previously-unseen second sword. Of course, fans of the Witcher Netflix series had a few of their own admittedly humourous theories:

Netflix’s The Witcher is set to next reveal new information at the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con, where the series first footage is expected to debut. It’s also probable that some of the series’ more prominent rumors may finally be addressed such as a supposed series release date, as well as the possibility of multiple seasons.

Season 1 of The Witcher Netflix series is set to premiere later this year.

What do you think? Are you glad to see Roach made the cut for The Witcher’s live-action series? What other secrets are hiding in the above photo?
