Watch the Sneak Preview of Pandora: The World of Avatar Walt Disney World Attraction (VIDEO)

Avatar Walt Disney World

We learned earlier this year about Universal and Nintendo’s plans to bring the worlds of Mario and friends to life at Universal Studios, and now it seems that OTHER large amusement park company is planning to bring a visual world most people never thought possible to recreate in a real world setting. We’ve known for a while now that Disney has had plans to bring James Cameron’s Avatar to life in a Disney theme park, and now we are finally getting our first look at the Pandora: The World of Avatar Walt Disney World attraction.

A new video released on the official Disney Parks YouTube channel shows behind the scenes footage of the development of the new attraction. Pandora: The World of Avatar is currently scheduled to be opened in Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom park in the summer of 2017. The video shows the Imagineers responsible for the attraction’s development, as well as James Cameron and his trusted film production team, discussing the process that went in to making the alien world of Pandora a reality.

This new section of the park, much in the vein of the upcoming Star Wars additions to Disney’s Hollywood Studios park, will feature new Avatar themed rides. This will include Avatar: Flight of Passage, where guests will ride the Banshees from the film in a flying simulator, as well as the Na’vi River journey, which will send guests on a boat tour to see animatronic versions of Pandora’s creatures. I think this new Avatar Walt Disney World attraction looks pretty radical. What do you guys think? Are you excited to see everyone’s favorite blue cat aliens come to life? What film would you like to see made into an amusement park attraction? Let us know in the comments below!
