Watch Dogs Mod Adds More Missions, Events, and Exploding Phones (VIDEO)
The Watch Dogs franchise first began in 2014 with the release of the first game on what were then fairly new current-gen consoles. The first Watch Dogs was one of the bestselling new franchises ever for Ubisoft upon its initial release, however the sequel fared less successfully in sales. Given this, there are still people looking for more adventures and mayhem in the first game’s version of Chicago, and one modder has sought to do just that with new content and features added to the game. Their new Watch Dogs mod gives the player more missions, events and hacker capabilities than ever before.
Modder The Silver One released the new LIVING_CITY Watch Dogs mod along with new videos promoting the additional modded content on their official YouTube channel. Some initials critics of the game felt that the civilians in Watch Dogs could not be interacted with to a great extent, so this mod adds new features like being able to hack into civilian’s smart phone cameras and even overloading their phones, causing them to explode. The mod also includes more significant events that can occur with the NPCs, such as police chases with criminals and Armor Plated police appearing by the player.
We also see that the mod allows for the player to re-enter buildings that only make their interiors available during missions, such as the Loop ctOS Hub. There are also new custom made missions for players to find, which make this a fairly significant mod. If Ubisoft plans on returning to the Watch_Dogs franchise again, they would certainly be smart to learn from mods like this on how to make their open worlds even more robust and interactive. Now THAT would be a total life hack. Those interested in checking out the mod can do so right here.
