Warhammer Chaosbane Throws Shade At Diablo Immortal

BilzzCon 2018 had plenty of great announcements, however, fans are still reeling over the Diablo Immortal announcement. The disappointment from fans came when they revealed that the new title was a game just for mobile users. While fans have been dogging Blizzard, Warhammer Chaosbane has thrown some shade that might have broken Twitter.

Warhammer Chaosbane is an sction-RPG set in the Warhammer world that will be available on both console and PC. While outsiders might think the announcement from Warhammer seems a bit innocuous, fans picked up on the dig towards Diablo Immortal immediately. To stoke the fire, Twitter users jumped in on the jokes as well:

While Diablo Immortal plans to fill in the gap between the second and third installment of Diablo, many fans of the franchise aren’t at all excited about the game being on mobile only. While the community was hoping for Diablo 4, Blizzard made it clear that they were not working on it at this time. Ultimately, people feel a bit alienated from a franchise they have been quite loyal to.

Warhammer Chaosbane is among many in the fan and development community who are unhappy with the decision. The backlash has been viral, starting with fans booing after the announcement and a surge of criticism since BlizzCon. Eventually, Blizzard will roll out Diablo Immortal and hope for the best, however, this may be a lesson learned for the company.
