If you are a fan of Games Workshop’s Warhammer 40K, specifically the digitized video game versions, then chances are you probably got pretty excited when Sega Games and Relic Entertainment announced the next saga in the Warhammer 40K franchise, Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War III – Prophecy of War. Announced back in May of 2016, Dawn of War III promises to be a brutal addition to the franchise, if the launch trailer has any insight into what to expect. As for now, we get a closer look at the three factions as they fight to control the Spear of Khaine in the newest trailer for Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War III – Prophecy of War.

Featuring a three-faction campaign and an online multiplayer mode, Dawn of War III looks to be epic. Control one of three factions and command legions of Space Marines, Orks, or Eldar as they fight to gain control of the mythical Spear of Khaine. Dawn of War III promises all the action of previous installments of the franchise, but in a much more expansive manner.

Of course, what would an army be without elite squads of death-dealing warriors? “Collectible Elite Squads” are also featured in Dawn of War III adding an even more complex and lethal focus to each players battle tactics. Not only are the armies bigger and badder, but they brought in the big guns for this game. War Machines have been added to make the battles more epic than ever before.

Wage war with massive armies across violent volcanic terrain or mighty orbital Star Forts. Take your battle plans to another level by deploying powerful collectible elite squads, each boasting their own special abilities and bonuses that will help you unlock and develop new attacking strategies to conquer your foes. Take control of towering war machines and tip the balance of battle in your favor with the biggest characters in Dawn of War history. Turn the tide with the mighty Imperial Knight (Space Marine), the clattering Gorkanaut (Ork), or the haunting Wraithknight (Eldar).

Releasing sometime this year, Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War III – Prophecy of War promises to be a truly epic adventure for fans of the Warhammer 40K series. A specific date for release has yet to be announced but until it is check out the newest featured trailer.

I am not going to lie, as a fan of the Necron Armies (I know, boo) I was a little disappointed to see them left out. But who knows, maybe they’ll be added along with more factions down the road in expansions? Regardless, this game looks like it may just be the best digital Warhammer 40K experience to date, we are super pumped.
