The Wood Elves have Come! Total War: Warhammer Realm of the Wood Elves Expansion (Video)

If you have been or are looking at playing Total War: Warhammer then we’ve got some exciting news. Due to be released December 8th is the “biggest expansion to date” for Total War’s fantasy franchise Total War:  Warhammer. Unlike the historical releases, Total War: Warhammer provides the same immersive command and conquer play style of the base franchise experience without all the history. Total War: Warhammer is based off of Games Workshop’s incredible tabletop Fantasy Role Playing Game (RPG) Warhammer, where  players have the opportunity to build up an army and create epic battles in a player versus player (PvP) environment.

Warhammer

Total War: Warhammer brings the same thrilling fantasy combat experience to the digital frontier with a turn based empire building strategy game. The expansion Realm of the Wood Elves brings to the game the first playable Elven race along with an accompanying mini-narrative crusade The Season of Revelation. The new expansion will, of course, be bringing new Legendary Lords, Heroes, and units, to the game as well as magic and monsters to match. Although the Elves may have the appearance of grace, beauty, and elegant fragility, they are in fact an agile harbinger of swift lethality. Looks to the skies for you know not from whence your doom approaches.

With a rich suite of lore-inspired campaign and battle mechanics, Total War: Warhammer’s first Elven race offers a play style unlike any other. Ranging forth from the enchanted forests of Athel Loren, they may capture any settlement in The Old World and set up expansionary outposts. In battle, they offer a swift, glass-cannon play style. By far the most powerful and versatile archers in the game, they can equip a range of magical arrows, fire on the move, and are often joined by their Woodland allies such as Dryads, Great Eagles, Forest Dragons and vast, ancient Treemen.

Well for fans of fantasy genre strategy games, it looks like we most definitely have something to look forward to next month. Let us know what you think of the new expansion we’d love to get your thoughts on the Elves, plus check out some more exciting news from Total War here at DFTG!
