Even with its rocky launch, the first Destiny had a strong and loyal player base that fought their way through both story and competitive events. With the opening up of player platforms, many wondered if that hard work would carry over into the sequel. Bungie, the developer behind the franchise, took a moment to reassure veteran Destiny players that they will be rewarding them for their time into the game. This is only a glimpse, Bungie did state that there was more to come but this is what we know so far.

The obvious reward being emblems in the form of showing off dedication by conquering certain aspects of the first title – raids, expansions, and more will be rewarded in the form of these exclusive emblems. There is a confirmed total of 7 of these specific badges of honor.

Bungie has made it very clear that Destiny 2 is going to be a very different experience and with those changes comes changes to certain mechanics like the emblems themselves. The players can find their gamertag branded in a fire team as well as now the ability for that brand to show up in the character inventory screen. That specific player’s emblem can be seen with this addition like in the sample image below:

Unfortunately, the other rewards promised remain a mystery as Bungie keeps the details well under wraps. That being said, in the latest “This Week at Bungie”, a few details on specific emblems did reveal themselves with the raid schedule being confirmed up until the very last Trials of Osiris and Iron Banner.

Year 1, Year 2, and Age of Triumph emblems were revealed, including those who reached a 5,000 Grimoire Score. Here are the emblems designated for specific achievements:

 

For those veteran Destiny players that may be a tad underwhelmed by the rewards, remember – this is all that is confirmed. Bungie has stated that they are not done “rewarding” players for their time and loyalty with the first in the franchise. The Destiny 2 team is remaining tight lipped until closer to launch.

Destiny 2 will be releasing on September 6th, earlier than previously announced, on Xbox and PlayStation 4. The PC players will have to wait a little longer with their October 24th window of release.
