Ultra Street Fighter 2’s First-Person Mode – See it on the Nintendo Switch Right Here (VIDEO)
The release of Nintendo’s next console, the Nintendo Switch, is right around the corner and comes with it some exciting titles – most notably, Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild. Fans of Street Fighter, however, get some Switch love with a brand new version for this console of Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers. What makes this one special is that it has a first-person fighting vantage point that utilises the Switch’s Joy-Con controllers.
The inside look comes from a Japanese Capcom TV stream showcasing just how this first-person mode will look on the next generation console. The show’s called “Way of the Hado” and it shows players setting up the game with the controllers in hand getting ready to take on the fight in a slightly different way.

The title’s set up for taking down the enemy is the same with most fighters – keep taking out your foe and build up a high score using a series of unique motions such as swiping both hands for a flawless Tatsumaki Senpukyaku. The graphics look well done as well, despite being based off of a 2D game. The 3D adaptation bears similar mechanics to Street Fighter IV to freshen up gameplay.
There isn’t much else known about the upcoming Street Fighter release and a solid release date is still TBD but we do know that it is set for the Nintendo Switch sometime this year.
