Twitch Game Sales are Now Available, Featuring Rewards and “Twitch Crate” Offers
Back in February, Twitch officially announced a new system that would allow viewers to purchase digital copies of a game via the website. Partnered streamers and developers will receive a share of the profits gained from this feature, as well. Adding to that, with each purchase made, consumers will receive a few “Twitch Crate” containing random items like emoticons, badges, and “cheers”, but these will only be available for every purchase of 5 dollars or more. To inaugurate the beginning of this new detail, the company will be hosting “Twitch Crates Gear Giveaway” from now until early May. So, every time a gamer buy a title, they will earn an invitation for a chance to win some goodies.
With 4 weekly drawings and a grand prize that includes more than $500 worth of equipment, it’s certainly giving people incentive to use the newest addition to their platform. While games may be bought worldwide from the streaming platform, the drawings are only available for those residing in the United States. For now, 50 games will be available for consumers with many requiring additional accounts on such clients or sites such as Uplay, Hi-Rez, Twitch Desktop App, and others. Their plan is to gradually bring more and more options, of course.
