The Witcher Netflix Series Casts Young Geralt Of Rivia

The Witcher Netflix Series Casts Young Geralt Of Rivia

At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, fans of The Witcher were given their first meaty glimpse at the upcoming Netflix series in the form of a full length trailer, which gave us our first good look at Henry Cavill as a not-just-a-screen-test Geralt of Rivia. We also received our first look at Yennefer and Ciri, two of the other headlining stars of the series. Now, it has been revealed that yet another actor is joining the cast, albeit one a big younger in years.

The news comes by way of Witcher fansite Redanian Intelligence, which recently did some research on The Witcher Netflix series’ IMDB page, where it uncovered that Tristan Ruggeri had been cast to play the role of a Young Geralt of Rivia.

This will be Tristan Ruggeri’s first acting credit, and it will take place in episode three of the first season of The Witcher. Normally there’d be a chance that we’d see a young version of the character before flash forwarding to said character fully grown up, but since Ruggeri is slated to appear in episode three, this will likely just be a simple flashback, likely providing us with a glimpse of Geralt of Rivia’s origins. It is possible that we will see some aspect of Geralt’s training as a young Witcher, possibly even the Trial of the Grasses, where he ‘becomes’ what he is best known for.

Netflix’s The Witcher series is expected to release later this year on the streaming service.
