The Witcher Netflix Series Fighting Scene Goes Perfectly With Britney Spears' 'Toxic' (VIDEO)

Update: Media was disabled from the original Twitter post, so we went ahead and snagged the clip from YouTube for all your viewing pleasure.

I didn’t expect to be writing about anything related to Britney Spears when I woke up this morning but here we are, and it’s honestly for a very good reason. One of the breakout hits from the first season of Netflix’s The Witcher is the epic bard song ‘Toss a Coin to your Witcher’ performed by Jaskier. While the song has proven to be an absolute banger worthy of its own crossovers, it doesn’t go particularly well with the show’s fight scenes. Enter Britney Spears’ ‘Toxic.’

A Twitter user by the name of Lee Travis recently posted a video clip from one of the earlier episodes of The Witcher showing off the season’s first major fight scene in Blaviken. Instead of it being a simple vanilla clip from the show, this absolute madman decided that it was lacking in the Britney Spears department and paired her ‘Toxic’ song to the scene. And y’know what? It really, really works. Check it out below:

The scene from The Witcher goes quite well with ‘Toxic,’ particularly early on, enough so that it makes me wonder if that’s what Henry Cavill was playing in his head as he cut Renfri’s men to ribbons. Okay, that probably isn’t what was going through his head, but we can dream, can’t we? Since the first season of The Witcher is still fresh on people’s minds, it’ll be interesting to see what other concoctions fans come up with as time goes by.

Season one of Netflix’s The Witcher is currently available on the streaming platform.
