The Witcher Netflix Series Acquires Seasoned Marvel Writers

Lauren S. Hissrich is a saint and anyone in the know can appreciate her candor and teasers for the upcoming The Witcher Netflix series, the live-action adaptation of the popularized novels and video games. Between author Andrzej Sapkowski and CD Projekt Red’s adaptation, there’s a lot going for the show. Now there’s even better news to grace the sights and senses of anticipating fans and that’s the acquisition of several experienced Marvel writers who will be joining the team. Talk about a creative powerhouse!

Hissrich shared on her personal Twitter a warm group selfie of her and the entire crew, which can be seen below. It looks as though writers from original Netflix series such as Jessica Jones and Daredevil made themselves well-acquainted with one another with names including Jenny Klein, Sneha Koorse, Clare Higgins, Declan de Barra, and Beau DeMayo. Plus, who can say no to a room full of cupcakes and people eager to make a fantastic production?

With the pilot episode finished and out of the way for more creative juices to flow, it looks like the crew is ready to hit the ground running. The Witcher Netflix series will have 8 episodes in the first season, taking inspiration from Sapkowski’s first two books – Sword of Destiny and The Last Wish. For those fearing the worst for the show, worry not! Sapkowski was declared head of the creative team, so any details passing through the show likely goes through him first. Breathe easy, fellow Witcher friends, the source of the beloved universe lingers closely.

We can’t wait to see what they all have in store! What are you anticipating for The Witcher’s live-action adaptation?
