The Witcher 3 Nintendo Switch Version Reportedly Leaked
E3 2019 is just a few weeks away, and gamers everywhere are excited over the surprise new announcements that will be made at this year’s big event. One sure-fire bet these past few years has been the announcement of previously existing games coming to Nintendo’s hybrid home/portable console. The past two E3’s have surprised many with Nintendo Switch port confirmations, including Fortnite and Rocket League. One such title that many have hoped to see has been The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Now, according to some posts from Asian retailers, The Witcher 3 Nintendo Switch may have just been leaked.
As reported on Chinese social media site Weibo, several Chinese retailer websites have begun listing The Witcher 3 Nintendo Switch version as coming in the future. Perhaps the most notable of these listings is on retailer site Taobao, where the listing even includes the box art for the Nintendo Switch version of the game. These listings should be taken with some skepticism, but confirmation one way or another would likely be made during E3 for this port, were it to exist.
The Nintendo Switch was not available when The Witcher 3 was first released, but perhaps the biggest hurdle for the game not having a Nintendo Switch so far has likely been the game’s technical necessities. That game pushed the limits of the PS3 and Xbox 360, so it would be a bit of a challenge, but still possible for the game to run on the Switch. There is always the possibility for the Switch to utilize cloud technology to make the game run. Hopefully Geralt does make his way to the Switch, as it would be a great chance for Nintendo Switch-only households to experience his misadventures.
