The Lord Of The Rings: Gollum Release Date Announced
With the new generation of video game consoles going strong, new games made specifically for those consoles in mind have slowly been releasing to take advantage of the new hardware’s power. One such game that fans have been waiting for has been The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, which focuses on the Middle Earth monster. Given Gollum’s slender frame, this game has opted to provide a more stealth and strategy-minded approach to gameplay in The Lord of the Rings. Now, at long last, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum release date has been confirmed to fall later this year.

Daedalic Entertainment has announced The Lord of the Rings: Gollum release date in a new tweet on the game’s official Twitter account. The Gollum-focused game is set to be released for the PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One on September 1st, 2022. The announcement clarifies that the Nintendo Switch version of the game will be released at a date after September 1st, though that date is not yet known. Given that the Switch’s hardware is less powerful than the other devices, it needs more time in the mines of Moria.
The game was first announced in 2019 by Daedalic Entertainment, with the Lord of the Rings: Gollum release date originally set to happen in 2021. However, the game was delayed to this year, possibly due to complications in development brought on by the pandemic, but also due to NACON joining the project as a co-publisher mid-development. Still, it is good to know that it will only be a few more ‘monthses’ before precious gets to go looking for fishes with Smeagol. Hopefully, the game edits out all the taters by then, precious.
