Analyst: The Elder Scrolls VI Could Release This Year In Response To Fallout 76 Backlash

Elder Scrolls VI

Elder Scrolls VI was recently teased at last year’s E3 event alongside Starfield. Bethesda later asked that players be patient, claiming that the two titles would take some time to complete and the developers were hoping to release on next-gen consoles. However with the recent lack of success seen with the Fallout 76, it seems that there may be hope in seeing the title arrive sooner than expected.

Michael Pachter is a prominent analyst within the gaming industry, having correctly predicted quite a few things last year such as Nintendo’s recent string of massive successes, Microsoft’s struggles, next- gen console rumors, and more. The analyst recently discussed his predictions in an interview including the possibility of Elder Scrolls VI arriving sometime this year, despite stating previously that it was still years away:

The flop of Fallout 76 makes a hit more essential for Bethesda, and I expect them to accelerate development of ESVI.”

While Fallout 76 has been quite a wonderful experience for some, it didn’t become the success that Bethesda may have been hoping for. It makes sense then that Bethesda is going to need a win, and soon. Because Starfield is a totally new IP, it might be a little harder to push as opposed to the Elder Scrolls franchise that’s been around for quite some time and already has the groundwork laid out.

The idea that Bethesda could be taking players back to Tamriel sooner than predicted would be nice but if the team is rushed, the product could potentially suffer as well. Pachter’s prediction should be taken with a grain of salt as it goes directly against everything that’s been revealed by developers as well.

There’s very little information regarding the title, however rumors indicate that players could possibly be headed to Hammerfell. Could the next Elder Scrolls title really be arriving sometime this year and if it does, when? Let us know your thoughts on the Elder Scroll VI and more in the comments section below.
