Team Fortress 2 Halloween Update Goes Live, Game Still F*cking Rocks

Three things are certain in life: death, taxes, and regular updates to Team Fortress 2. The multiplayer class-based shooter game has been running for over 12 years, and it has retained a dedicated following for a long time thanks in large part to going free-to-play and regularly updating the game. There’s been updates that add PvE game modes, new cosmetic items, and community creations like trailers and items for each class. But one of the most beloved recurring updates is the “Scream Fortress” Halloween-themed event.

Players will be able to indulge in some spooky scary shooter action as the Scream Fortress 11 event is live right now! The update features two new maps called Laughter and Precipice. Players will also be able to get “Spooky Spoils Cases” that feature 22 new community-created cosmetic items. New apparel items include a Bat shaped hat, Calavera and Raccoon masks, as well as a Dinosaur head and tail set. Finally, the Scout will finally be able to embrace his spirit animal of a Velociraptor. In order to get Spooky Spoils Cases, players will have to complete Halloween Contracts and will give players items from previous Scream Fortress events on top of the loot cases.

Cases will also feature “effects” like auras and emotes on top of the apparel items. Players can get in on the spooky Team Fortress 2 fun now until Scream Fortress ends on November 7th. Team Fortress 2 is available on Steam for Free, console Team Fortress 2 players will not be able to access any of the items.
