Sunset Overdrive PC Test Update Addresses Mouse Sensitivity, Gameplay Issues, And More

Just last week, Insomniac Games finally released Sunset Overdrive on PC, a paltry four years after the game originally arrived on the Xbox One. Now, with PC gamers getting their chance to sink their teeth into the popular action adventure game, developer Blind Squirrel Games – the folks behind the game’s PC port – have released a new update addressing some of the issues that have popped up since launch.

The folks over at Blind Squirrel Games recently took to the Steam website to announce a new public test build that is now available to download for Sunset Overdrive. The update addresses a few different issues, the majority of which have come about thanks to fan feedback. Said issues include mouse sensitivity, a problem with minimum spec checks, and more. Here are the bullet points:

  • Mouse Sensitivity – We’ve made updates to how the mouse controls work to address the feedback you’ve been giving us. You will likely need to adjust your in-game mouse sensitivity after updating, but should see a noticeable improvement here.
  • Cyrillic Usernames/Saves – Users with Cyrillic (or non-ASCII) characters in their usernames should now be able to have saves work as expected.
  • Min-Spec Check – We’ve removed the block that prevented some users from entering gameplay based on how our game detected your system specs. Bypassing this may result in reduced stability or other gameplay issues for systems that are low on RAM, etc.

As this is a ‘public test beta,’ those looking to take advantage of it will have to opt into it through the Steam client. Directions for this can be found through a link on the blog post, right here. The developer plans on pushing these changes to the main build at some point next week, for those that don’t mind waiting.

Sunset Overdrive is now available on Steam, as well as on Xbox One.
