New Street Fighter V Trailer Launched, Spotlighting New Character Ed (VIDEO)
To celebrate the reveal of a new playable character in Street Fighter V, Capcom has just released a brand new feature trailer. Ed, a fighter who was raised by Balrog, and was subjected to experimentation by M. Bison, comes packed with a whole arsenal of devastating moves that are sure to bring any player’s opponents to their knees.
This intense-looking fighter found himself introduced to the story back when Street Fighter IV was released, though he hadn’t been a playable character then. Luckily for fans, Capcom has taken it upon themselves to finally give players a chance to really grasp the incredible power behind this fighter in an upcoming release. Check out the trailer below to see this character in action:
Under the tutelage of Balrog, Ed’s fighting abilities focus mainly on boxing and kicks (unlike Balrog), though his character does come with a twist. In the story line of Street Fighter, Ed, having been experimented on by M. Bison, has the ability to use Psycho Power. This added potential is due to the fact that Ed shares a bloodline with the Shadaloo leader. With a combination of hand-to-hand combat and Psycho power, Ed looks like a pretty unstoppable character. Some of his abilities include the V-skill Psycho Snatcher, the V-Reversal Kill Step, and the Psycho Barrage as his Critical move. Viewers can see a complete selection of all of his moves on Capcom’s website, or see a sneak-peek of his most potent moves in the video above.
As of right now, Ed is not available for download, though he will be featured during the Capcom Fighters Network Beta. The Beta will run from May 11th through the 14th, which gives players plenty of time to try out this character beforehand. Once the Beta is over with, players will then have to wait for Ed to be released, though game developers have promised that Ed will be available “soon” for Street Fighter V.
