Street Fighter 5 Stage Banned from Capcom Cup Tournament and Pro Tour
Believe it or not, some things like this must happen. According to Capcom Fighter’s twitter account, they have banned the use of the stage “Skies of Honor” from Capcom Cup 2016, as well as the 2017 Capcom Pro Tour (CPT). Even though it is a fun map to play on, it isn’t the best setting for a professional match. Especially with the constant camera shifts that may be distracting for players.
Due to being too distracting for tournament play, the #SFV Skies of Honor stage will not be used for Capcom Cup 2016 and the CPT2017 Season.

Some of you may not know, but Skies of Honor is a map where players duel on a moving plane. The background scenery is great, flying past tall buildings and other landscapes as you fight your opponent to a total K.O. That may or may not be the biggest con for players, however. It is easy for people to lose focus when there are so many moving objects in the background. Motion sickness is a problem too.
For example, personally, most FPS (first-person shooters) are out of the question for me. Having an astigmatism doesn’t help either. It can be extremely difficult to focus when there are several moving objects, or too many special effects. It is an even bigger problem when the screen is too wide. The peripherals catch everything.
The 2016 Capcom Cup begins next week, where 32 players will compete to win over $350,000 in prizes. Holy moly, that is a lot of money. Think about Blizzard’s current attempt to make professional Overwatch league as well. I don’t doubt it will happen, since Overwatch is taking over the world right now. It’s amazing to think how far eSports have evolved over recent years, especially with the explosion that is League of Legends.
