Ubisoft’s Steep Alaska DLC Announced – Details Uncovered

Steep Alaska DLC

Why purchase a season pass for the mountains when you can buy one for Ubisoft’s new snowboarding sports title? Fortunately for players, this time around, the new Steep Alaska DLC is completely free to download and play when it releases in February. The minute details such as challenges, in-game items, and rewards have not been revealed, just yet. However, the Alaska DLC is supposed to add an entirely new map for snowboarders to enjoy.

Steep‘s 1.04 patch went live a couple days ago, implementing the Steep World Tour – a monthly tournament series where everyone can participate. There are 3 phases, including qualifiers, tournament, and finals. For this month, the first phase ends today, titled “Petrified Freestyle”, located on the Cursed Mountain. The main event is called the Rocky Path which is set in Tyrol, and begins on January 30th. For the finals, the challenge is titled White Ballet and is also located in Tyrol. The rewards? Steep credits.

Additionally, Community and Developer challenges are created by fellow players like you! Anyone can design and create their own. The addition of Director Mode (Replay) allows players to capture moments during a game, at all sorts of angles and settings to make for an epic shot. Let out your inner Travis Rice.

Whether you’re base jumping or snowboarding, you can capture the moments you liked the best and show it off to friends. Ubisoft made some adjustments to existing features, as well, including:

  • Mountain View Navigation
  • Camera and HUD
  • G-force system
  • Tricks system

The Alaska DLC for Steep will be available starting February 10th, 2017 and free for all platforms – Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4. Later this year, the game will also be available for the Nintendo Switch.
