Steam Breaks New Record With Impressive Amount Of Concurrent Users
Steam, the popular PC gaming platform, has been having one hell of a year when it comes to their user base. Smashing records left and right, Valve and co. have something new to celebrate: Yesterday marked a huge milestone as the they reached an all time high of 17,686,886 players all around!
Concurrent users is a term used for the amount of people online at once. That’s over 17.6 million PC gamers rallied at the same time. Their peak for in-game users was set at an impressive 6.9 million. It’s very likely that this feat was in large part to their Black Friday sales the company hosted, gamers love to save and Valve is known for their amazing deals. A huge push for success to game from the (no one is surprised) was that of the popular battle royale game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG).
With the holiday weekend still going strong, and many will be glued to their computers come Cyber Monday, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the company cap at 18 million. Only time will tell but what a fantastic holiday season so far for the PC platform!
