Steam Has Announced the Steam Awards Winners – See the Full List Here
Just in time for the turn of the new year, the Steam Awards winners for 2016 have been announced. Voting commenced on December 22 and ended yesterday with each category gaining a whole day of voting opportunity. Some companies announced roles as finalists, some gaining momentum and votes enough to win while others had no such luck. There were five finalists for each group with titles ranging from Borderlands 2 to Farming Simulator 17. Unsurprisingly, some of the most well-known games in gaming history made it to the list – Skyrim being one of them.
Grand Theft Auto V and Euro Truck Simulator 2 won two awards for themselves. Check out the winners and their categories, below:
The “Villain Most in Need of a Hug” Award
- Portal 2
The “I Thought this Game was Cool Before it Won an Award” Award
- Euro Truck Simulator 2
The ‘Test of Time” Award:
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
The “Just 5 More Minutes” Award:
- Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
The “Whoooaaaaaaa, dude!” Award
- Grand Theft Auto V
The “Game Within a Game” Award
- Grand Theft Auto V
The “I’m Not Crying, There’s Something in my Eye” Award
- The Walking Dead
The “Best Use of a Farm Animal” Award
- Goat Simulator
The “Boom Boom” Award
The “Love/Hate Relationship” Award
- Dark Souls III
The “Sit Back and Relax” Award
- Euro Truck Simulator 2
The “Better with Friends” Award
- Left 4 Dead 2
Some of the Don’t Feed the Gamers crew probably wished Farming Simulator 17 made it to the top. Without a doubt, The Walking Dead deserved the “I’m Not Crying, There’s Something in my Eye” Award. What do you think of the Steam Awards winners? Could you argue that the community could have voted differently? Who did YOU vote for?
