If you happen to be a fan of Star Wars, and more specifically Star Wars: The Old Republic, we’ve got good news! On October 7th BioWare dropped an exciting new trailer for their upcoming expansion ‘Knights of the Eternal Throne’ and, if you’re anything like myself, you probably watched the whole thing with a big stupid ear to ear grin on your face.

Knights of the Eternal Throne puts the player at the center of their own explosive battle to rule the galaxy. As the Outlander, a veteran of the Great Galactic War, players will have the power to make their mark based on their light and dark side choices. Stakes are high as the player faces the most powerful villains in the galaxy including Emperor Valkorion and Empress Vaylin, as you lead the fight to take control of the Eternal Throne!

With the release of the new expansion each player has a new set of paths to choose with their story. The game designers have introduced new mechanics to the game that will more or less let the player choose how their empire is to be run. How will you choose to rule the Galaxy? Will you rule with the firm yet benevolent hand of the Light Side? Will you bring the mass chaos and strife of the Dark side? Perhaps a bit of both?

Ruling the galaxy offers expanded power and influence through the new Galactic Command system. Alone or with friends, players can ignite light and dark side battles, face all-new erupting confrontations known as Uprisings, and unlock powerful rewards. In the latest expansion, players will be able to customize their combat encounters with three challenge levels, giving everyone the option to play their way.

Needless to say I’m excited. The Eternal Throne expansion promises new modes of game play including: Challenge levels, where you can choose to play any of the story missions on a tailored difficulty. Galactic Command, which allows the player to create battlegrounds on which to fight for galactic control. Uprisings, where you can team up with up to 3 allies to fight some of the galaxy’s most notorious adversaries. As well as five new levels, two new planets, and nine new chapters added to the saga.

With new story lines, new game mechanics, and so much new content to explore I can definitely say I will be looking forward to it’s launch on December 2nd of this year. The expansion is free to Premium Subscribers of SWTOR, and the game developers have stated that you have to be a subscribed Premium player by December 2nd in order to play.
