Star Wars Battlefront II: EA Wants To Focus On Progression Boosts For Microtransaction Comeback

After heaps of negative feedback, EA temporarily removed the Star Wars Battlefront II microtransactions with the intent to change them up. In a recent phone interview, an EA representative gave a little more information about what’s to come once the system is returned.

The EA representative said the Battlefront team is going “back to the drawing board” and focus more on balance for the updated system. He said the team is working specifically on the players wanting an “accelerated experience”. That means when the Star Wars Battlefront II microtransactions return, fans could still spend their money on “accelerators” that will affect gameplay in one way or another.

Though EA was not specific about how these boosts will work with the new system, regardless these “accelerators” will still give players with more money an edge. One of the main issues fans were having with the Star Wars Battlefront II microtransactions, was that they felt the game was “pay to win“, so if they don’t rid the game of these boosts then they’re not really addressing people’s concerns.

Most players concerns did not revolve around the cost of the boosts, so much as the boosts being available to begin with. It seems as though EA took the system down in order to adjust costs, but not to fix the real problem of unfair advantages. Luckily there is still a chance though for anyone who is disappointed by this news.

In a recent Reddit AMA about Star Wars Battlefront II, the team said repeatedly that they would continue to adjust the microtransactions as time goes on. They plan to continuously keep an eye on fan’s feedback and make changes when appropriate. Hopefully the situation will be handled better in the future, but for now we can only hope.

Star Wars Battlefront II is out now for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. What do you think of how EA is handling the Battlefront II microtransactions? Let us know in the comment section below and then make sure to follow DFTG on Twitter to stay updated on all the hottest gaming and entertainment news 24/7!
