Skyrim VR Player Uses Treadmill While Exploring To Stay Active: GOALS!

Using virtual reality to explore your favorite games is the closest you can come to actually being in the game in real life. While being able to roam Skyrim’s open-world landscape, visually, would be exciting for anyone, this Skyrim VR player took things to the next level. By using a treadmill while exploring, he can really feel like he’s actually exploring that world.

The Skyrim VR player is named Archie Robert Hansford Jr. and he is a genius for finding a way to play games all day, and still stay fit. He fell in love with the world of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR on PlayStation VR (PSVR). Hansford is a member of the PSVR facebook group and earlier this month he posted the above picture of his PlayStation Move controllers resting on a treadmill. In the photo, a step counter app shows a whopping 3,000 steps and he went ahead and described just how it got that high:

So here’s my solution to locomotion, set speed low and over encumbered myself. Took me roughly 3,000 steps to go from Solitude through Dragon Bridge (the long way) to get to Dawnstar. Last night I walked from Whiterun to Rorikstead that took me about three hours and I have mastered the bow and arrow in that time. No fast traveling I want to make it to Riften to see them autumn leaves!”

Can you imagine actually walking through this huge game full of dungeons, crypts, and mines by the hundreds? Trotting through cities and meeting various characters, feeling as if you are really doing these things, all the while burning them calories baby! Hansford is really taking advantage of such a great game, which outsold the Switch version, and really getting the most out of it.
