Marvel’s Spider-Man Sequel Teased By Insomniac Games

Marvel’s Spider-Man has become a critical and commercial success in almost every sense of the word. The game has been the fastest selling game this year and maintains an 87 on Metacritic. With everyone loving Spidey’s most recent adventure, and tracking down every last activity this fantastic recreation of Manhattan has to offer, many are wondering whether or not we’ll see a sequel to the game.

Spider-Man’s creative director Bryan Intihar spoke with IGN’s “Beyond! Podcast” crew during a recent episode and didn’t give a whole lot of concrete details, but spoke a little bit about whether or not plans are in place to start development on a follow-up. “We wanted to have questions people may talk about and debate what the future could hold,” said Intihar.

That was an answer regarding the nature of the game’s ending, which we won’t talk about here for the sake of keeping away spoilers. Inithar tried to dance around announcing anything regarding a sequel, but revealed that fans can expect more great story material when the DLC starts rolling out. Intihar continued:

Nothing to announce [regarding a sequel], but we obviously want to keep you engaged in our Spider-Man universe. That’s why we said right off the bat you’re going to have three drops of DLC. It’s not just activities in the city, this is a full story. You’re going to be able to get a pretty chunky, new experience.”

Inithar promises more “twists and turns” for Spider-Man in these content packs so hopefully, these can keep us satisfied until we hear more about a new game! Have you been playing Spider-Man?
