Spider-Man PS4’s ‘The Heist’ DLC Releases Next Week (VIDEO)
After a little over a month of web-slinging awesomeness, Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man PS4 is officially getting its first DLC update! The first chapter of the game’s ‘The City That Never Sleeps’ DLC series, ‘The Heist’ sees Peter Parker reuniting with an old flame, Felicia Hardy, aka Black Cat. Check out the teaser trailer for The Heist below:
The Heist represents the beginning of a “new, interconnected story taking place over the three chapters of Marvel’s Spider-Man: The City That Never Sleeps.” The DLC kicks off with a robbery at an art museum, at which point Peter Parker once again finds himself tangled up with Black Cat. The Heist officially releases on October 23rd. It can be purchased on its own, or together with the other two upcoming DLC drops at a discounted price.
In addition to the new story missions, fans can also look forward to a whole new faction of enemies for Spidey to engage, as well as new crimes, new challenges, and new trophies. Of course, this wouldn’t be a proper DLC drop without a few new suits for Spider-Man, and Insomniac Games is delivering three new suits for The Heist. Check ’em out below:
Here’s the breakdown of the new suits, courtesy of Insomniac Games:
“One we’d love to highlight is the Resilient Suit, by famed Marvel illustrator Gabriele Dell’Otto. We loved bringing original suits to the game, starting with our Advanced Suit, and continuing with Adi Granov’s Velocity Suit, and this is another great one. Additionally we have two more suits that fans of the comics will recognize, Spider-Man’s suit from Scarlet Spider II, and the Spider-UK suit from the Spider-Verse.”
In addition to the upcoming DLC, Spider-Man PS4 update 1.07 will be available to download for free starting tomorrow, October 17. The update features a New Game+, as well as a new Ultimate Difficulty to the game. According to Insomniac, “NG+ allows you to play the story and all activities in the open world again with all of your unlocked suits, skills, gadgets, mods, and benchmarks from the beginning.” Strangely enough, at the time of writing this the above words actually disappeared from the blog post, so it is possible that the European PlayStation Blog may have let the cat out of the bag a tad earlier than planned. Either way, news is news, and fans can kick off their Spider-Man PS4 New Game+ runs starting tomorrow.
Spider-Man is now available exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
