SoulCalibur VI Reveals Cervantes In Epic New Gameplay Trailer (VIDEO)

A SoulCalibur series mainstay has officially returned to the fold for Bandai Namco’s SoulCalibur VI. And no, it isn’t Voldo, and I’m totally only mentioning him here because now I justify saying the phrase spiky pelvic thrusting death. Anyways. Announced in a brand new gameplay trailer, Cervantes leaps onto “the stage of history” wielding his two iconic weapons, Acheron & Nirvana. The Immortal Pirate is looking as purple as ever, but otherwise ready to do battle. Check out the new trailer below:

Just as he does in the previous games, Cervantes utilizes the gun built into the hilt of one of his swords to pepper his foes from afar before closing the gap to deliver swift, devastating combos. Given the fancy footwork on display in the trailer, it is no wonder that those that face him often think that they might Azwel just give up. Here’s what to expect in SoulCalibur VI, for those interested:

  • Unreal Engine – For the first time in franchise history, beautiful and jaw-dropping 3D character models, visual effects and stages rendered in Unreal Engine.
  • New Battle Mechanics – Read opponents’ attacks to execute a strategic Reversal Edge to land a counter attack while in guard.
  • Multiple Fighting Styles – Choose from a worldly roster of warriors, each with their own deadly weapons, fighting styles and visual flare.
  • Dynamic Battles – Spectacular, high-speed battles featuring all-new battle mechanics taking gameplay to the next level.

SoulCalibur VI launches for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on October 19, 2018.
