This Skyrim Mod Adds 8-Player Co-Op, Beta Info Released
The Elder Scrolls has been a primarily single player experience with the exception of the wonderful Elder Scrolls Online. Still, ESO isn’t exactly what many fans might want out of a multiplayer Elder Scrolls title however thanks to a mod for Skyrim, fans can now play with their closest friends without the thousands of other players found in the official online game.
The Skyrim Together mod has been in development for quite some time and would have been available much sooner had it not been for some setbacks that modders ran into. It appears however that the mod is finally almost ready to launch thanks to a developer post on the official subreddit. According to the post, Skyrim Together will soon be entering a short Closed Beta with an Open Beta following soon after.
Soon we’ll be opening the doors for our loyal Patreons for a temporary closed beta – Don’t fear, this will shortly available for all. This period will be used to measure traffic, any emergency fixes and stability. The smoother this runs the faster we’ll have it out for you guys.”
For the time, there will be an 8 player limit for each game but the developers have stated that they would be open to increasing this cap should enough players be interested.
Players will need to use a separate launcher for the mod itself that will be ready when this project launches its Closed Beta. According to the devs, the file size will be roughly a 200MB download. There hasn’t been any specific date set for the launch of the Closed Beta or the full launch but the developer post did mention that it would be sometime soon.
