This Skyrim Mod Offers The Ultimate Cthulhu Vs. Dragonborn Face Off (VIDEO)

Skyrim has aged well. With the help of an ever prosperous mod community and the massive world gamers can mold to their will, there’s plenty of life left in the Bethesda title. Just in case the expansive world is feeling a little small for your tastes, one mod takes it to an entirely different level with a popular HP Lovecraft icon. Did someone call for Cthulhu?

The charm of a worshipped tentacle entity continues on until today well into popular culture and has invaded Skyrim. Now, it’s after the Dragonborn. Complete with voice work, the mod titled Here There Be Monsters – The Call of Cthulhu is fully developed with a chain of quests, storyline, weapons, gear, and brand new companions. It’s an entire expansion that’s been in the works since 2015 and there’s a whole lot to explore. Thanks to a fellow Skyrim modder, check out what this new addition looks like below:

Here There Be Monsters – The Call of Cthulhu also features “giant otherworldly creatures,” new enemies to encounter, spells, shouts, explore the “southern continent of Pyandonea” and the Plateau of Leng. Here’s the official synopsis thanks to the mod creator Araanim:

They call you the Monster Hunter. You have fought the terrors of the deep. You have faced monsters greater than any dragon. And you have have killed them all. You have slaughtered the Sea herself.  But the final words of Tiamat still echo in your mind. “That is not dead which can eternal lie…

Strange things have begun to happen across Tamriel. Barbaric cults have began their ancient rites in the dark places of Skyrim. Monsters have grown huge and terrible in the ashes of Red Mountain. And there are whispers across Solstheim of an ancient city name R’lyeh… Something has awoken in its ancient House. Something the Sea has held for aeons. Something more terrible than any monster on this Nirn. For He is not of this world. Cthulhu has awoken.”

To get started on downloading this masterpiece, check out the Nexus Mod page here. Modders are required to install the first mods created by Araanim titled Here There Be Monsters. After completing the first two original quests, players simply need to mosey on into a coastal tavern to trigger the quest for Cthulhu success or demise.
