Skull & Bones Confirmed To Still Be In Development – “Not Dead”
Skull & Bones was revealed back in 2017 as a tactical open-world action game that took a lot of inspiration from Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag’s seafaring mechanics. The premise has seemed wonderful so far, but sadly, numerous setbacks that have pushed the title’s release date farther and farther away from its original timeframe of 2018. While there hasn’t been much information on the state of development lately, it seems that Ubisoft is, in fact, is still making progress and claiming that the game isn’t dead yet.
As with many games, Skull & Bones has its own official Discord server that allows fans to take part in exploring news, talk with each other about the game, and more. Discovered by Prima Games, one channel within the server is dubbed “Game Is Not Dead,” suggesting the game is still in the works and giving fans a small bit of hope for the naval combat title. The channel is filled with gifs, memes, and jokes speculating whether the title really alive as well as fans who are excited to see that Skull & Bones is still in development.
According to a conference call for investors back in 2019, Skull & Bones is currently looking at a release sometime between April 2021 and March 2022 and will be available for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. With next-gen console releases for Sony and Xbox quickly approaching, perhaps the title will also be added to those platforms as well. Though, there’s been no word from the developers on whether that will be the case or not.
