The Sims 4 Receives Toddler Life Stage Update for Free (VIDEO)

The Sims games are definitely those ones where you binge for a month, heave a sigh of exhaustion, and put down for even more months at a time. Electronic Arts and Maxis have announced a completely free update, giving users the opportunity to have the toddler experience. Instead of procreating and having an infant, which then morphs into a moody teenager – players can have fun teaching and coddling them even longer. Why didn’t this come out during the release of Sims 4, you may ask?

Well, according to the blog post on The Sims Official blog, the “time, resources, and design” were not available nor ready. Surprisingly, EA allowed this project to go on for years before a release, despite consistent feedback from players since the series began. Check out the trailer for the update, below:

With the initial price tag of The Sims 4 base game around 70 dollars, and the myriad of now purchasable DLCs, it has since dropped to around 40 USD. It comes to no shock that the Toddler update is free, as an addition to the core gameplay. Here’s what ‘SimGuru’ Lyndsay had to say about the new addition:

The Sims 4 base game has always provided a foundation upon which we’ve consistently grown and expanded, and we hope that Toddlers will help to capture those moments of growth and nurturing we’ve seen you share over the years – in addition to highlighting the special bonds between parents and toddlers as they grow. We’ve added over a hundred new animations, dozens of new interactions, and great new suites of outfits and objects. But most importantly, we’ve bridged a really meaningful part of your Sims’ lives.

The update is available for download in Origin right now. Will you be checking it out and creating a new family? What are your plans now that this new life stage has been added?
