Retail Listing Hints at Possible Shadow of Mordor Sequel Coming Soon

Some of you may remember a little title by the name of Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor. In fact, most of you probably know of the critically acclaimed game set in the land of The Lord of the Rings. It was released in 2014 by Monolith Productions and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, and it was met with glorious praise from many. Of course, with any successful video game comes the speculation of whether or not there will be more to come. Thanks to a potential leak on Target’s website, we now have a look at what might be the Shadow of Mordor sequel.

Shadow of War - Shadow of Mordor sequel

Thanks are in order for Twitter user Wario64, who spotted the leak. In the photo above, we see the potential Shadow of Mordor sequel, Middle-Earth: Shadow of War. As of 11:30 a.m. CST, the link to the Xbox One version is still active. It boasts an August 22 release date and looks to be developed and published by the same folks who made the first game. There is no telling if this is somebody’s mistake or a legitimate launch of the pre-order, so you better hop on over to Target and snatch up one for yourself!

If you search for the Shadow of Mordor sequel on Target’s website, your results will come back with two Gold Editions, one for the PS4 and another for Xbox One. While the regular Xbox One version has a standard $59.99 price tag, the Gold Edition sports the higher $99.99 price. Each Gold Edition comes with the same thing:

  • Slaughter Tribe Nemesis Expansion
  • Outlaw Tribe Nemesis Expansion
  • The Blade of Galadriel Story Expansion
  • The Desolation of Mordor Story Expansion
  • Gold War Chest
  • Over $125 in total value

If all of this leads us down the road that it looks like it is, we’re all in for a treat when Middle-Earth: Shadow of War releases on August 22. No word on whether or not it will be on PC, but with the first title being on all platforms, it’s safe to assume the Shadow of Mordor sequel will follow the same route.
