Gorgeous Sea Of Thieves Artbook Arriving Early 2018 – Features Sketches, Concepts, And More

Sea of Thieves Cross-Play Announced at Gamescom

Though it was initially announced in 2015, Microsoft Studio and Rare’s Sea of Thieves release has been a long time coming with a tentative release date of early 2018, and that won’t be all that’s drifting toward the shore. A Sea of Thieves artbook appropriately dubbed “The Art of Sea of Thieves” should appear sometime next year. It will feature gorgeous concept art, artist commentary, sketches, and more.

The artbook does not have a release date, but there is a window of early 2018 as well. While this is completely speculative for now, it is highly likely that a collector’s edition will be made available including this, or at least around the same time the game debuts. Check out the sneak peak of some sweet concept art and cover in the gallery below:

As with most collectible items like these, the illustrations will be dotted with artist commentary and close-up looks at minor details that may otherwise be overlooked. Be it tattoos, accessories, and emblems, the minor tidbits can speak volumes in symbolism and subtle storytelling.

The Sea of Thieves artbook will be available for pre-order soon on Amazon, Barnes & Nobles, and other like retailers and published by Dark Horse Comics. The game itself, on the other hand, is anticipated for release on Xbox One and PC with no further information on an official release date, but more on that will come along in the near future as the first quarter of 2018 comes reeling in. Sea of Thieves features 4K Ultra HD capabilities on the Xbox One X and a gaming experience that’s focal point is a “shared-world adventure game”. Become the pirate you were always meant to be and get all that booty.
