Sea of Thieves

Gamescom 2020 has already proven to be an exciting time with new games and content being announced such as Little Nightmares 2, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart and Twelve Minutes, and it seems Sea Of Thieves is no different. Sea of Thieves Executive Producer Joe Neate gave us a rundown of what’s to come in the September update in a video on the IGN YouTube channel and it’s no surprise that fans of the game are most excited about the addition of man’s best friend: dogs!

The video also highlights some of the successes the game has seen since launching on Steam stating that the steam audience makes up 20 to 30 percent of their active monthly users and it has allowed for people to be able to play with friends on a cross-platform basis. Sea of Thieves with their current (and future) updates have really made community a priority to allow people to play with others from every corner of the world seamlessly.

There was also (according to the video) promises of monthly updates to include bug fixes and live events to add to the already brilliant and beautiful sandbox that Sea of Thieves offers it’s players. The September update also offers a new voyage for the Gold Hoarders alliance in game which will be a permanent addition to other voyages such as “X Marks the Spot”.

Sea of Thieves was released in March of 2018 and Rare Ltd. has ensured it success with implementing crucial elements of player feedback and consistent content releases. The game has won multiple awards including Best Xbox One game and Best Multiplayer game at Gamescom 2016. It’s exciting to see the latest in the Sea of Thieves universe and with the game passing 15 million players since launch, one can say it’s been an amazing success!
