Rocket League 'Salty Shores' Update, Season 8 Details Revealed (VIDEO)

Recently, Rocket League developer Psyonix released the long-awaited Season 7 reward details, revealing that players could not only look forward to loads of new banners, but brand new Goal Explosions as well. Now, we also know exactly when Season 7 ends. In a blog post earlier today, Psyonix has announced its upcoming ‘Salty Shores’ update, alongside initial details for Rocket League Season 8. Check out the trailer for the Salty Shores update below:

As seen in the video, Salty Shores is a new, free arena featuring loads of sun and sand, a nice change from the game’s mostly indoor venues. In addition to the new arena, the update also brings with it plenty of new items – the new ‘Twinzer’ Battle-Car is at the top of the page – and the new ‘Impact’ Crate, as well as loads of new music from the ‘Rocket League x Monstercat Vol. 3’ EP.  The ‘Soccer with cars’ title is also getting a nice quality of life feature in the form of a ‘Report Server’ button, for servers that aren’t performing appropriately during online matches.

The Rocket League Salty Shores update will be available for download on May 29, which also marks the end of Season 7 and the beginning of Season 8. Fans have just one more week to get a few more wins in before the end of the season, so better hop to it! Fans can also look forward to the game’s upcoming ‘Beach Blast’ in-game event, which debuts on June 11. We’ll have more information on the event in the coming weeks.

Rocket League is now available for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
